Full Garden Miss Dorothy Slack

Lecture excerpt for this garden

(117) The garden of Mr. John Slack and Miss Dorothy Slack was planted many years ago by Mrs. Slack, and has been maintained more or less as a memorial to her. The best season for bloom in this garden is in June and July. Delphinium and lilies are planted beyond the grass paths, with accents of cedar. (118) A lone pergola leads from the house into the garden toward a flight of stone steps (119) leading up into a small Spanish garden filled with potted perennials and plants. (120) Beyond is a natural pool, fed by many springs. Water lilies abound a huge willow tree overlooks this remarkable pool. There is nothing that compares with this pool in all the gardens of our Garden Club members. It is one of those unique and beautiful things that perhaps are heaven sent to the people who will most appreciate and care for and enjoy them.
