(77) Mrs. William Mercur a garden in town on one of the main streets of the city. The garden wall showing the fountain rises directly from the pavement on Fifth Avenue. The winding path is planted with Alpines and mostly spring bulbs, while at the back of the house is a truly extraordinary rock garden, with many varieties of interesting plant material. (78) This particular spot is not more than one hundred and fifty feet from the street. Leonard Barron was the landscape architect, and this garden is only three years old.
