Slide 133 — Mrs Halsey Williams

Excerpt from Mrs. Hunt’s lecture

(133) In the Garden Club of America's book "Gardens of Colony and State" the old garden of Mrs. Halsey Williams, which was laid out by one of the early landscape architects of the pre Revolutionary days, still exists. The old brick house with its interesting wrought iron work is still occupied by the family. The gigantic trees are well taken care of, and a new garden developed by Mr. Bryant Fleming carries on the spirit of the last century. In this slide a corner of the old house shows beyond a perennial border, and the old fountain, brought from Italy many years ago, houses the old spring, for which the place is famous.
