Slide 015 — Miss Chalfant, Sewickley

Excerpt from Mrs. Hunt’s lecture

(15) Miss Chalfant's garden on Sewickley Heights has many interesting features. One walks from the terrace of the house through a perennial garden and down this flight of steps, the walls thickly planted with tiny rock plants, to a blue slate flagged terrace. The high hedge is a double planting of lonicera bella albida. It makes a dense hedge of a beautiful gray green.
