(5) A higher hedge would have been infinitely more effective as a background for the beautiful old columns, and for the fountain in the fore ground. In Italy and France if you remember, the hedges are always extremely high and severely clipped to make a formal background, or a natural planting of trees, which must be very tall to be effective.
